Día de los Muertos is a tradition with pre-Hispanic roots that commemorates ancestors and deceased family members. It’s a distinctive holiday that reunites the living and the dead, and honors those we have lost. Some of our schools will be setting up ofrendas, and the City of Hillsboro is hosting two events suitable for all ages: crafts and games at the Shute Park Library from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, November 1; and a celebration with Huecha Omeyocan at the Walters Cultural Arts Center from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 4.
